Round 2 of the Luso-Galaico series was held in Spain at the track of A Forna, Porrino. The results of the trophy challenge was still unknown, with Cristian leading the points and me in 2nd place. The Spanish tracks are very different from the ones that we have in Portugal, and I realized on Saturday that it was going to be a very tight race.

In all of the qualifiers the result was always the same. I qualified in 3rd place and headed to the semi-final A with the number two. In the semi-final I had a good start, getting into 1st in the opening laps. During the semi-final I flamed out but because of my lead of a lap I maintained the spot and won the first semi-final. I waited for the results of the 2nd semi-final.
Heading into the main final the top 3 were as follows:

I had a very bad start in the final and I got stuck when making a sharp turn, dropping back to 9th place. Because it was still early in the final, I tried my best to regain positions and by the time 6 laps were done I was back up into 3rd place. Still trying to gain positions, I was able to improve a bit every lap and eventually claimed 2nd place. The best was yet to come, as I had an half a track distance to the 1st place driver. Gaining momentum with every lap, I got very close to the lead driver and passed him to take the lead. Now the fun began as I still had to do my utmost best to maintain that position, and I did. crossing the finish line in 1st place.

With this result I won the Luso-Galaico trophy...Ricardo Monteiro and XRAY are Luso-Galaico Champions!!!!
